The B.lux Group’s stand at the last edition of the Light & Building trade fair was very well received by visitors. Designed by the manufacturer’s regular collaborator David Abad, the 150m2 stand stood out for the imposing appearance of its front and rear facades, inspired by Le Corbusier’s architecture.
The interior’s strategic design made it possible to enjoy a central workspace, from which one could view all the decorative and architectural lighting collections which B.lux presented in Frankfurt. An elongated table located in the centre of this social area served as a meeting point for international visitors and even for interaction with the products on display. Within the stand the lamps were displayed at two different heights and grouped by family, such that each new B.lux collection was spotlighted.
The combination of the materials used in their construction was another of the key features of the David Abad stand design. Thus, the floors combined continuous cement projecting a cold look with other warmer ones with a natural pine finish. The configuration of the latter also made it possible to channel the visitors’ direction and movement through the stand’s interior.
Schlüter-Systems will again present a number of new products and systems associated with the installation of ceramic tiles and natural stone at Cersaie in Bologna, stand 10 in Area 45.
The company’s exhibits at the world’s leading tile industry tradeshow will include new complete sets for the elegant accent illumination of stairs as well as mirrors and decorative areas. Schlüter-Systems will also have several new waterproofing solutions on display: A bonded waterproofing function has been added to the Ditra-Heat-E system, and the company’s Schlüter®-Kerdi-Coll-L is a new variant of the dual-component sealing adhesive with an extended curing time to facilitate installation in environments with higher temperatures. Tradeshow visitors will also be able to examine the new and improved bonded waterproofing assembly Schlüter®-Kerdi. Its practical imprinted gridlines assist with easy and precise cutting of the roll material and help create evenly spaced overlaps and seaming tapes. In addition, the ongoing display of the material length on the roll gives tradesmen consistent information about the remaining material quantity. The company will also display new solutions in the competence area “Technology and design with profiles” at Cersaie. This includes Schlüter®-Trep-EFK, an elegant stainless steel profile that is either adhered with installation adhesive in the corresponding milled grooves or subsequently on stair steps. The special slip-resistant tread ensures safe grip on stairs.

Highly responsive floors contribute to healthy and comfortable living. The electrical floor heating system Schlüter®-DITRA-HEAT-E brings individually adjustable floor areas to the desired temperature in no time. The system will be on display at the stand along with a variety of system solutions for the ceramic thermal comfort floor Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM. The thin-layer floor heating system can be installed with an assembly height starting from 25 mm plus covering, making it an attractive solution for restoration and renovation projects._

The Cosentino Group, world leader in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for architecture and design, enters into a collaboration agreement with tennis player Rafa Nadal, considered the best Spanish athlete of all time. As part of this alliance, Cosentino will develop various promotional and support actions together with Nadal.
The first of these actions will be to sponsor the «Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar» project, the tennis academy that the athlete will open soon in his hometown of Manacor (Majorca, Spain) to promote the values of sport among youngsters.
The Academy, work on which is scheduled to begin in autumn this year, is a comprehensive educational and sports project dedicated to teaching, shaping values, promoting tennis among children, and searching for new talent. The complex will consist of various spaces, such as a school, the International Tennis Centre and a fitness centre, among others. It will also be home to the headquarters of the Rafa Nadal Foundation and a Museum dedicated to the career of this tennis player.
The Cosentino Group supports this high-performance educational and sports complex via its flagship products Silestone®, world leader of quartz surfaces, and Dekton®, the Group’s new ultra-compact surface that is conquering the international architecture and design markets.
It is precisely the material Dekton by Cosentino® that will be mainly used for the various facilities of the «Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar». Façades, flooring and other cladding created with this innovative product will grace the spaces of the Academy. Silestone® will also be used in areas such as the kitchens and bathrooms of the complex, the design for which has been created by two architectural firms from Majorca and Barcelona.
According to Santiago Alfonso, Cosentino Group’s Director of Marketing and Communications, «collaborating with Rafa Nadal is a source of great pride for us all. Nadal is so much more than an exceptional athlete. His desire to achieve, his strength and ability to lead are some of the values that have made him a global celebrity, recognised and admired everywhere. For Cosentino, where we have always committed ourselves to continually improve, innovate and search for that leadership to succeed, this partnership represents great satisfaction for all our employees, partners and customers worldwide».
«The fact that this union begins precisely with the sponsorship of the Academy perfectly reflects our common understanding of all those values. This really can be called a Social Responsibility initiative, as it focuses on youngsters in our society. For us it is an honour to work together on this educational project, and for our best products to be present in all its facilities and spaces», says Alfonso.
For his part, Rafa Nadal has expressed his satisfaction with this new alliance with «a Spanish company that is a world leader in its sector, encompassing a series of values with which I fully identify, in addition to supporting sport in Spain for a long time. I am sure that this collaboration project with Cosentino, starting with its help in the construction of the Academy, will be a long-lasting one and be productive for both parties».
This collaboration agreement with Rafa Nadal, reached with the participation of Evolution BCN, continues the active policy of partnerships and sponsorships that the Cosentino Group has maintained in recent years of elite sports. It was also a major achievement when Silestone® was the first Spanish brand to produce a spot to be shown at the world’s biggest advertising event, the Super Bowl in 2005. Since that same year, Silestone® has also been one of the main brands of the NBA Houston Rockets team. In addition, Silestone® was a personal sponsor of the Formula 1 world champion, Fernando Alonso, for four seasons. And since June 2011, and via its Dekton® brand, Cosentino is also a personal sponsor of the four times world champion for motorcycle racing, Jorge Lorenzo.

About 250 guests took part in this architecture and interior decoration cocktail dinner, which took place at the Ritz Hotel, a symbolic historical baroque-styled building, located in the Golden Triangle of Madrid, and whose façade is currently undergoing restoration work thanks to a project lead by the architect Rafael de La-Hoz.
