Initially, the shower tray has to be removed if you want to replace it with ceramic tile, leaving a healthy and rough surface free of grease, oil, dust and loose particles. Once we have a stable, clean and resistant support, 221 LANKOIMPER CAPA GRUESA will be used, a waterproofing mortar in thick layer with extended working time. With this product, we will make half round on the perimeter in order to tensions that occur in the walls and floors meet, and re-grow the ground while we slope toward the sink.
Next step is to seal the sink properly, in order to prevent future leaks. To accomplish this, 534 LANKOPOX MASILLA will be used, a bicomponent epoxy putty for joints of high strength, unalterable to water and high adhesive strength.
Then, to ensure the entire area an armed system should be applied, 228 LANKOIMPER FLEX and MALLA RENODECO. First one, is a bicomponent flexible waterproofing mortar in thin layer that allows light movements. The second one is a fiberglass mesh acrylic impregnated with a 5x5mm light, which offers excellent resistance to tensile strength and elongation.
After 48 hours of waterproofing, you should place new ceramic tiles with LANKOCOL FLEXIBLE, a powerful and deformable tile adhesive of mixed binders. Finally, to complete the process, it is necessary grouting the ceramic coating with LANKOLOR JUNTA FINA, a cemented, colored grout applied in thicknesses up to 6 mm and available in 25 colours.
With this solution Parex offers an option for professionals that take care of the whole process of waterproofing and tiling in shower trays in particular baths, as well as, for communities, in which case we have LANKOLOR EPOXI for placing and grouting ceramic tiles.
From September 18th through the 22nd, Andreu World will exhibit in the housing sector of the Valencia Fair. The first news of this year, is the changing status of the stand (Pab 3 Level 2 booth A31), which this year will be moved from pavilion and will be located within the common area dedicated to the National Design Awards. This sector brings together qualified international companies recognized for their work in the most powerful forums in the field of design.
For this occasion, Andreu World is developing an innovative and creative space that will merge spaces in & out of our own home. This will create a different environment and lifestyle that play within our latest collection of chairs and tables designed by Patricia Urquiola, Lievore Altherr Molina, Piergiorgio Cazzaniga or by the Studio Andreu design team.
Within the Andreu World booth, we will generate five distinct areas:
Home Office, Living Room, Kitchen, Living and Outdoor. These spaces will act as different proposals that integrate product that is designed for these areas of our own home.
In parallel, the Feria Valencia stand will host on
Tuesday September 18th the International Design Contest Awards. This year, Renato Siqueira, Director of the Brazilian Association of Architectural Studies (ASBEA), Miguel Otero, Director of the Forum of Leading Brands, Viviana Narotzky, President of ADI FAD, Diego Gronda, Rockwell Group Creative Director in Europe and Gracia Cardona, Director of Design Journal blog will be participating in the award ceremony.Projects “Wooden Horse” and “Folding Rules” winners of this year’s competition out of 200 participants.
The Andreu World stand at the Feria Habitat Valencia has welcomed the awards ceremony for the 12th Annual Andreu World International Design Competition. The jury has awarded a first and second prize and four special mentions in this year’s competition. After long deliberation, members of the Jury have highlighted 2 different proposals with complementary values. On one hand, the value of ideas and on the other hand, the realistic approach to product design.
The first prize has been award to the project “Wooden Horse” from Laurent Divorne (Switzerland). The project “Folding Rules” from Thierry Gossuin (Belgium) has won the second prize.
The jury awarded first prize to “Wooden Horse” because it’s valued versatility of a proposal that offers the opportunity to have elegantly stacked stools. The jury highlighted the project to be a simple and fun piece, a suggestive proposal that connects to your childhood. Aesthetically, it is a versatile piece that can fit in many different settings and evokes an essence of luxury in the world and nature which makes a highly symbolic design in one piece.
The jury highlighted “Folding Rules” because of how this folding chair used wood to provide a simple solution to their composition. This very form of bending wood helps create this structure and gives the piece simplicity and harmony. Its configuration allows flat packing easy user installation.
Finally, the jury awarded four honorable mentions to “Armchair Ergues” Damian Rodriguez Mendez (Spain), Leonardo Colucci (Shanghai, China) with “Koko”, “Fold” by Charles O. Job (Zürich, Switzerland) and the project “Veer stool” of Samir Skalli (UK). The jury highlighted the cleverconstruction of these pieces, highlighting its functional design and ease of production, the care in detailsand proportions as well as its materialization.
In each piece, the jury considered each innovative contribution in the fields of design, product quality, technology and manufacturing processes, as well as originality in the pieces. The first and second prizes are awarded 3,000 euros and 2,000 euros respectively.
The event this year has brought together contestants from all over the world and about 200 projects.
The Andreu World International Design Competition has become an event that brings together young professionals from all fields of design, who present their best creations in a competition that rewards creativity, which makes it a launching pad for novice creators.

On October 20 and 21 it was celebrated in the theatre Piccolo Arsenale of Venice, Archives and Exhibitions, the first conference on archives organised by la Biennale di Venezia – ASAC (Historical Archives of Contemporary Arts) in the context of the 13th International Architecture Exhibition with the collaboration of Direzione Regionale per i Beni Culturali e Paesaggistici del Veneto – Soprintendenza Archivistica per il Veneto.
"You can't hold an exhibition, even one dedicated to the avant-garde, without having recourse to the archives," says Paolo Baratta. "For some time now, the present and the contemporary have been viewed in the light of previous experiences or of history. The conference Archives and Exhibitions, promoted by la Biennale di Venezia – ASAC, more than a technical conference, is therefore aimed at launching an indispensable instrument for cultural organisation, and will be repeated every year at each Art and Architecture Exhibition. La Biennale is thus enriched by a further, ongoing research project."
The conference began with a reflection on the use of archives in the 13th International Architecture Exhibition, curated by David Chipperfield. The theme of the Exhibition has led the participants to reflect on themes concerning "continuity, context, and memory, and towards shared expectations." The participants were encouraged by the curator to demonstrate the importance of influence and of the continuity of cultural endeavour, to illustrate "common ideas that form the basis of an architectural culture." Many of the architects invited by Chipperfield, in creating their original proposals and installations, have drawn from material from architectural archives.
La Biennale dedicated two days to debate, divided into 5 sessions that include institutional interventions in the morning and two roundtable discussions in the afternoon.
The last session devoted to defining a future work program, which provides for seminar meetings devoted to specific aspects of the preservation and use of the archives of the twentieth century and contemporary age.
